Learn why your Oklute ad may appear on Google and other search engines, and how to remove it from search results if needed.
Quick Overview
• Public and active ads can be indexed by search engines.
• Indexing helps increase your ad's visibility and reach.
• You can prevent future indexing by suspending or deleting your ad.
• Search engine results may take several days to update after changes are made.
Why Does My Ad Appear on Google?
Oklute uses SEO (Search Engine Optimization) best practices to help users discover public listings more easily. As a result, search engines such as Google may automatically crawl and index active ads published on the platform.
This means your ad can appear in search results when people search for related terms, even if they visit Google before coming to Oklute.
What Is Search Engine Indexing?
Indexing is the process used by search engines to collect and store information from publicly accessible web pages.
When your ad is active and publicly visible, search engines may include it in their search results. Suspended, expired, or deleted ads are no longer eligible for indexing.
How to Remove Your Ad from Search Results
If you no longer want your ad to appear in search engines:
1. Log in to your Oklute account.
2. Open your Dashboard.
3. Go to My Ads.
4. Select the ad you want to remove.
5. Choose either:
o Suspend Ad – temporarily hide the ad.
o Delete Ad – permanently remove the ad.
Once the ad is no longer active, it will eventually disappear from search engine results.
⚠️ Important: Search engines update their indexes independently. Removal from Google and other search engines is not immediate and may take several days.
What Information Can Search Engines Display?
Only publicly available content from your ad may appear in search results.
Search engines cannot access or display:
• Account passwords or login details
• Private account information
• Hidden or restricted content
• Internal account settings
Common Questions
I suspended my ad, but it still appears on Google
This is normal. Search engines may continue showing cached or indexed versions of your ad until they refresh their databases.
I deleted my ad, but it still appears in search results
Search engines do not remove pages instantly. It can take several days, and sometimes longer, for Google and other search engines to update their indexes and remove deleted content.
